WANA (Nov 28) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, has described the recent ceasefire on the Lebanese front as a humiliating and strategic failure for Israel. “Israel has failed to achieve even a fraction of its sinister goals in its war against Hezbollah,” Salami declared. He suggested this development could pave the way for a broader ceasefire and even end the war in Gaza.

In a message addressed to Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Salami congratulated the Lebanese resistance on what he called a monumental victory. “The steadfastness of Hezbollah and the people of Lebanon has forced the Zionist regime into an unprecedented retreat,” he wrote.

The IRGC commander hailed this as a pivotal moment in the anti-Zionist resistance movement across West Asia. “This victory, achieved through the sacrifices of martyrs, the resilience of the Lebanese people, and the courage of Hezbollah fighters, has reshaped regional equations and taught the world that true dignity comes from resistance and faith-driven courage,” Salami asserted.

Salami emphasized that Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire, while under relentless Hezbollah rocket fire and strikes on its strategic sites, exposes its vulnerabilities. “This serves as a stark lesson for Israel’s backers, including the U.S. The era of Zionist dominance is coming to an end,” he said, adding that the resources spent supporting Israeli aggression could have been better utilized for American domestic needs.

He quoted Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, saying, “The crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza and Lebanon, contrary to the wishes of the criminals, will only strengthen and intensify the resistance.”

Salami concluded his statement by honoring the sacrifices of Hezbollah commanders and fighters, including the late Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safieddine. “With God’s grace, Iran will remain steadfast in its support for the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements, sparing no effort in this sacred cause,” he vowed.

The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, mediated by international parties, came into effect on Wednesday morning, Beirut time (5:30 AM Tehran time). Alongside this, a new survey conducted in Israel showed that the majority of Israelis believe the regime was unable to defeat Hezbollah.

The ceasefire has been met with widespread criticism within Israel, with many political circles describing the agreement as a failure and defeat for the Israeli regime.
